For girls ages 11-14

The Rose Circle provides outdoor programming and nature-based rite of passage experiences for girls and women throughout Jackson County.

In August of 2007, the Rose Circle provided a pilot weekend camp out at Earth Teach Forest Park. Thanks to a generous grant from Women Living Leadership: A Branch of the United Way, in August of 2009, the Rose Circle launched Camp Luna, a nature-based rite of passage experience for 20 girls throughout the valley. Camp Luna was offered again in 2010, 2011, and 2012 and we had Luna Day in 2013. In June, 2014 we held the 5th Camp Luna for 19 middle school girls at the beautiful Wilderness Trails Camp. We are taking a break from offering Camp Luna in 2015. Instead, we have a brand new outdoor summer program for 8th and 9th grade girls: Luna Journeys. See below for more information!

This year the Rose Circle is launching its first yearlong nature-based mentoring program for girls who are entering 8th and 9th grade.  The program will begin with a 4-day backpack trip in July.   After the trip, girls and mentors will continue to meet twice a month during the school year in an ongoing circle that will include outdoor experiences.  Luna Journeys is intended for a small group of girls and two or three adult female mentors.  Contact us for more information.
